Getting Started: The Very First Thing You MUST Do
Before you can do ANYTHING fun with GilRobo, you need to give it a special key. Think of it like putting batteries in a toy – without batteries, the toy won’t work!
What is an API Key?
An API Key is a secret password that lets GilRobo talk to a super-smart AI brain in the cloud. It’s like having a library card that lets you borrow books from a huge library.
Step 1: Get Your API Key
You need to get your key from one of these AI companies. Don’t worry – it’s free or very cheap to start!
| Company | Website | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| DeepSeek | chat.deepseek.com | FREE and very smart! |
| OpenAI | platform.openai.com | The most popular |
| Google Gemini | aistudio.google.com | Great for learning |
| Anthropic Claude | console.anthropic.com | Super helpful |
Follow these steps:
-
Ask your parent or teacher to help you visit one of these websites
-
Create a free account (you might need to add a credit card, but you can set a spending limit)
-
Look for a section called “API Keys” or “API Tokens”
-
Click “Create New Key” or “Generate New Token”
-
Copy the long, secret code that appears (it looks like this:
sk-51f256da20694c7d8c6b179350f2a0c0)
Step 2: Put Your Key in GilRobo
https://images/api-key-section.png
-
Look at the VERY TOP of the GilRobo page
-
Find the box that says “Paste API key here (required)”
-
Click inside the box and paste your secret key (right-click and choose “Paste” or press Ctrl+V)
-
Click the blue Save button next to it
🔴 DON’T SKIP THIS STEP! The AI magic won’t work without it.
💡 TIP: Your browser will remember your key, so you only have to do this once!

Step 4: Analyze Nationwide Data
Now you can answer questions like:
“How are Year 6 students doing in Mathematics across the country?”
“Which regions have the highest science scores?”
“Are students improving compared to last year?”
“Which topics are hardest for students nationwide?”
Chapter 25: Creating National Reports
With data flowing in from all schools, you can create powerful reports that show the state of education across your country.
25.1 Types of National Reports
| Report Type | What It Shows | How to Use It |
|---|---|---|
| Performance Dashboard | Live view of current achievement | Monitor progress daily |
| Regional Comparison | How regions compare to each other | Target resources |

Subject Breakdown:
Subject | National Avg | Change from Last Year -------------|--------------|---------------------- Mathematics | 72% | ▲ +2% Science | 68% | ▼ -1% English | 81% | ▲ +4% History | 65% | ▼ -3%
Top and Bottom Schools:
Top 5 Schools | Bottom 5 Schools ---------------------------|-------------------------- 1. North Academy (94%) | 1. South Primary (45%) 2. City Grammar (92%) | 2. East Village (48%) 3. West High (89%) | 3. Rural School (51%)
25.3 Creating a Regional Comparison Report
Step 1: Gather Regional Data
Make sure each school has its region set in the Location field.
Step 2: Query Your Database
Ask your database: “Give me average scores grouped by region”
Step 3: Create Visualizations
https://images/regional-comparison.png
This bar chart shows:
-
North Region: 78% (best)
-
Central Region: 72%
-
South Region: 68%
-
East Region: 65% (needs help)
Step 4: Take Action
-
Send extra resources to East Region
-

What this tells you:
-
Science curriculum might need updating
-
History teaching methods are stable
-
English interventions are working!
25.5 Identifying Achievement Gaps
The most important reports show WHERE students are struggling.
By Geographic Region:
Which areas have the lowest scores?
By School Type:
Are public schools performing differently than private schools?
By Demographic:
Are there gaps between different groups of students?
Example Report:
Region | Urban Schools | Rural Schools | Gap ------------|---------------|---------------|----- North | 79% | 71% | 8% South | 74% | 62% | 12% East | 68% | 55% | 13%
This shows a rural-urban achievement gap that needs attention!
25.6 Exporting Reports
Once you’ve created reports, you can export them:
| Format | Best For |
|---|---|
| Printing and presenting | |
| CSV | Further analysis in Excel |
| JSON | Sending to other systems |
| HTML | Publishing on websites |
Chapter 26: National Interventions and Policy Making
With all this data, you can make INFORMED decisions about education policy.
26.1 Identifying Problems Early
The Early Warning System:
https://images/early-warning.png
When data shows a region dropping below threshold, you can act BEFORE it becomes a crisis.
Example Scenario:
-
January: East Region scores 68%
-
February: East Region scores 65%
-
March: East Region scores 62%
🚨 ALERT! East Region is declining rapidly!
Action:
-
Send inspection team
-
Provide extra resources
-
Investigate causes (new teachers? funding cuts? local issues?)
26.2 Testing New Policies
Want to know if a new teaching method works? Test it!
The Experiment:
-
Group A (Control): 50 schools, continue normal teaching
-
Group B (Test): 50 schools, use new method
Measure:
-
Before: Both groups score 70%
-
After 6 months: Group A 71%, Group B 78%
Conclusion: The new method works! Roll it out nationwide.
26.3 Resource Allocation
Use data to decide where to send money and support:
| Region | Performance | Need Level | Action |
|---|---|---|---|
| North | 78% (Good) | Low | Maintain |
| South | 68% (Fair) | Medium | Some support |
| East | 55% (Poor) | High | URGENT SUPPORT |
Send to East Region:
-
Extra teachers
-
New textbooks
-
Teacher training
-
Technology resources
26.4 Curriculum Updates
When subject scores decline nationwide, it’s time to update the curriculum.
Example:
-
Science scores dropping for 3 years
-
Teachers report outdated materials
-
New scientific discoveries not included
Action:
-
Form curriculum review committee
-
Update science curriculum
-
Provide new training for teachers
-
Monitor next year’s scores
26.5 Teacher Training Programs
Identify which teachers need more training:
By Performance:
-
Top 10% of teachers → Become mentors
-
Middle 80% → Regular training
-
Bottom 10% → Intensive support
By Subject:
-
Math teachers scoring low → Math training
-
Science teachers improving → Share their methods
26.6 National Goals and Targets

Parent Consent Form should include:
-
What data we collect
-
Why we collect it
-
How we protect it
-
Who can see it
-
How to opt out
Sample Consent Text:
“I give permission for my child’s anonymized quiz scores to be used for educational research. No personal information (name, address, photo) will ever be shared. I can withdraw consent at any time.”
27.7 Data Retention Policy
How long should you keep data?
| Data Type | Suggested Retention |
|---|---|
| Quiz scores | 5 years |
| Student records | Until student leaves |
| Research data | 10 years |
| Anonymized statistics | Indefinitely |
Automatic Deletion:
